Breath

I wrote this for some young friends who are searching for magic in this world.

All things are universally connected.

As I inhale I take in the gift of oxygen.  A gift given by the trees.

As I exhale I give the gift of carbon-dioxide to the rooted ones.

They cannot live without me, nor I without them. 

Each thing depends on the other.

All things are universally connected.

As I breathe out, the moisture from my breath becomes one with the clouds above.

In their travels the clouds fill lakes, rivers and streams.

My breath flows over the Earth.

The clouds provide water to the farms and gardens that feed the world.

My breath rains upon everyone.

I am connected to all things.
