Spring

A Pantheist Spring Equinox
Celebration for the Family
By Robb Miller

This is my favorite time of year and my favorite festival.

The night before equinox we thank winter for providing a time of rest, solace, and introspection.

On the morning of the equinox, we greet the rising sun and recognize that the balance of power has shifted fully to the light.

Later in the day we travel to a local park to continue the celebration.  On arrival we remove our footwear, allowing our feet to connect to Mother Earth -- feeling the reawakening. We welcome the return of the songbirds by offering our song, gently embrace the trees to wake them from their long winter slumber, and convince the wildflowers to pierce the loam by offering poems that praise their beauty.

On returning home, we continue celebrating through song and poetry until sunset.  Before retiring for the evening, we enjoy a guided meditation about burgeoning life.  Silent Meditation follows -- the children silently, and in darkened room, draw their impressions of life returning to the planet.

May the Joy of Spring fill your life.
